Behind the wine
Breathtaking! That’s the word that comes to mind when you discover Valmagne Abbey, a treasure hidden in the middle of the pines. Located in Villeveyrac, this place, with its gothic and roman architecture, promises its visitors a total change of scenery and a real journey through time. Their generous and passionate owners will tell you how in 1838, after having been the hideout of monks, brigands, and revolutionaries, this historical monument entered their family. Faithful to the work and knowledge of the monks, the estate draws its legitimacy from 900 years ago. Large wine tuns of more than 400 hectoliters sit in the aisles of the central nave, reminding all those who come to discover Valmagne that wine has always been part of its history.

The vineyard has had 35 hectares under organic farming for more than 20 years, with bio-dynamic inspirations. The parcels are located on red sandstone and clay-limestone soils typical of the terroirs of the garrigues. One-third of the wine is aged in barrels for 12 to 18 months. There is a plot selection and the grape varieties are vinified separately. Vatting lasts between 15 and 30 days.
Serving temperature: 15°C to 17°C.
Preservation: It is a very nice wine with a good potential for keeping.
